‘Ignite your fire, awaken your potential and tap into your unlimited source of energy.’
Wild Vibrant Vinyasa is a breath focused, alignment based, strength building and stamina attaining creative practice. With intuitive body mind awareness, which is grounded in my philosophy of positivity, possibility, heart centred empowerment and spiritual connection.
I created this Dynamic Alignment and Power Vinyasa based practice back in 2006, at the time I called it Miami Power Yoga.
As I have evolved as well as the needs of my students, we have found ourselves tapping into the wild force of nature and drawing on these elements during practice to connect with our own unique vibration, self-expression and bliss.
Wild Vibrant Vinyasa is mostly influenced from my Ashtanga, Power Yoga, Rocket and Anusara training, as well as my deep connection to nature.
I offer classes for mixed level, intermediate and advanced men and women.
Wild Vibrant Vinyasa
This class is active, uplifting and inspiring with a cardio like dynamic and can be both challenging and relaxing. You will learn to use physical & energetic alignment principles to understand the fundamental nature of the poses whilst connecting with our heart center. Fusing Power Yoga elements, invoking strength, stamina and increased flexibility, Vinyasa Yoga is – ‘connecting body movement with the power of the breath’. Usually we begin with pranayama (breath exercises), seated warm ups to limber the body, which builds up to a more energetic and creative sequence.
We include sun salutations, standing poses; hip openers, heart openers, backbends and inversions. The experience ends with a deep rewarding, relaxation meditation. This class is dynamic uplifting and revitalizing.
For mixed levels and beginners wanting a challenge.
Modifications will be given based upon class needs (75mins).
Wild Vibrant Vinyasa
Intermediate / Advanced level
This is a vigorous, alignment and breath focused, fitness based class, with a strong emphasis and awareness on your spiritual connection.
Incorporating Power yoga postures (all held between 5-7 breaths) with ‘victorious’ Ujjayi breathing and Bandha awareness (energetic body locks). You will learn to find your own rhythm in this faster paced class as we focus on planks, core work, advanced poses, inversions, including handstand training, all linked with transitions and flow. The experience ends with a deep rewarding, relaxation meditation.
This class will provide a full body mind workout. It is strong, energetic, motivating, powerful, transformational and high-octane fun.
This is highly beneficial for athletes, runners, personal trainers, the physically fit, those who like a wild challenge and of course for practitioners and advanced students. Not suitable for beginners (90mins).

A little history
Wild Vibrant Vinyasa was initially born out of my soul love for Paul Toliusziz’s Power Yoga classes in Miami.
The forefathers of Power Yoga brought this Vinyasa fitness based style to the West. Bryan Kest from LA and Beryl Bender Birch in New York both were part of the second generation of American Ashtanga students that studied with Pattabhi Jois (the founder of Ashtanga). In an attempt to make what they had learned more accessible to Western students, the term Power Yoga was coined in the early 90’s and is now used to describe many vigorous Vinyasa styles. Vinyasa essentially means the connection or synchronisation of movement with breath.
Larry Schultz the founder of Rocket Yoga also studied with Pattabhi Jois in the 80’s. He opened his iconic studio ‘It’s Yoga” in San Francisco which I had the honour of practicing at, it was pretty wild.
Baron Baptiste is another well-known teacher who has successfully established his own style of Power Yoga. Power Yoga gave the innovators the freedom to draw from past styles and techniques used in various Yoga influences, to create something refreshing and more suitable for the modern Yogi.
‘I found power yoga addictive and as a result I saw a massive transformation in my personal practice. I experienced a newfound strength physically and emotionally and it awakened a graceful grounded confident power from within.’
– Wild Vibrant Yogi
“Deborah’s Wild Power Vinyasa classes are incredible! Challenging and dynamic, they silence the mind and strengthen and invigorate the body like nothing else! I always leave feeling energised and rid of any stresses and tensions I may have brought to the class.”
“Wild Power Vinyasa is a powerful, strong class that gets the whole body working hard. The effect is the same as an intensive workout at the gym but with all the amazing benefits of yoga. Including clarity of mind, connection of the mind and body, deep energetic awakening and an overwhelming sense of peace. What’s not to like?!”
“Ever left a class thinking that you could have been pushed just that little bit more? Trust me, you won’t feel that way with Debs!
Every lesson I feel as though I have given it my all – as though I have done 10 rounds – but by the time I get home, I feel as though I could do it again.
I do both Wild Power Vinyasa and Rocket yoga, and couldn’t recommend them highly enough.”
“Deborah takes my Yoga to a new level.
Having arrived to the UK after practicing Ashtanga Yoga for only one year in the States, I was delighted to find Deb’s Yoga Shak. Deb is a gifted instructor because of both her energetic spirit and the unconditional love she shares with her students.
As a combat veteran with over fifteen years of demanding experiences, I consider Yoga to be a critical component to my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance. Deb understands this balance and she molds her instruction to the individual needs of each student. Under her instruction, I feel I have advanced exponentially in both my poses and overall well-being.
I can’t recommend Deborah Curtis enough, especially to my fellow veterans whose years of service are impacting their quality of life – it’s never to late to learn, and you’ll wish you had started sooner!”
“Great Practice with Deborah at the Wild Power Yoga session.
Deborah is highly passionate and knowledgeable and in her crowded studio she delivers a fast – strong – and great fun practice.
It’s never the same and it’s never dull but it’s not for the faint hearted. Relaxed for three days afterwards then – See you there if you dare!”
